Hi Rodney,

can you tell me exactly if it is giving an error message wich says why it cannot run in safe mode?

Also: is the pc that doesn't go in Safe Mode or only the program that doesn't work??

If you are under a Microsoft Windows XP O.S. with a computer in a LAN, do you have Administrative priviledges or can you log in as an Administrator?

Please let me know giving more infos,

all the best,

Giancarlo

When I am in Safe Mode on Win XP Pro and press the Scan & Kill button, the ETRemover program terminates with no message. I am logged in as administrator on the pc. And it is not connected to a lan.
Thanks,
Rodney

Hi Rodney,

please download and run the following NEW versions of the program:

The first is the new Beta v.2.0.2:

http://www.simplytech.it/ETRemover/ETRemover_v202_Beta.zip

The second is the DISCONTINUED Beta v.1.3.3:
http://www.simplytech.it/ETRemover/revomeRTE_V133_Beta.zip

They are more stable than the previouses so, they will be possibly error-free.

Please keep me informed on the results.

Best wishes,

Giancarlo

Giancarlo,
Sorry for the delay. The computer that I was using to test your program had to be rebuilt and returned, so I didn't get a chance to test your other versions on it. (It did have some kind of problem, but I didn't really know what it was. So since I was going to rebuilt/reinstall the OS anyway, it would be a safe way for me to test your program.)

It was my daughter's Windows 2000 computer that was infected with the Elite Toolbar. She got it via AOL's Instant Messenger. In safe mode, it didn't seem to run the 2.0.1 version. But it did run the beta 2.0.2 version and it seems to have fixed the problem. Only time will tell.

Can you tell me how are you updating your "definitions" file when you discover them?
Thanks so much,
Rodney W. Young
